Happy Holidays!

Well, it's certainly been a busy and bright holiday season so far. I'll be taking off a few weeks along with the rest of the team to relax and spend some time with friends and family. The studio is closed from Friday December 20th-Monday January 6th. Rather than my usual year end recap, I'll be back in January with some new blog posts and lots of great weddings. Here's to a fabulous 2014! xo, SO

If you're a bride looking for information about weddings or booking a consultation, send an email to brides (at) sullivanowen.com to get the details!

At Home

If you haven’t been following along, over the summer T.O. and I bought a new house in the East Mt. Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia. We opted to do a  major remodel on the kitchen side of the house as it had not been updated in quite a while. While most of the work is completed I'm going to be sharing it as we finish the last remaining details. I've tried to bring home flowers each weekend with me as I'm training our cats NOT to eat them. They are sort of cooperating.  I like the contrast of the giant jar and magnolia with the kitchen. I tend to design my environments to be as neutral as possible so the flowers and art can stand out.

We combined the small kitchen and breakfast room to create one large open space with our family room at the other end. The old sink is going in my home floral studio which is still in progress and I might make the glass cabinets into a bar. Still thinking about that but I know I saved them for a reason. We're still looking for a work table to use as an island and a small table to eat at.

The small arrangement above are the remains of a bouquet class I took with Ariella Chezar. It was a wonderful class and I really loved the color palette. We are 98% finished with the kitchen, we just need the steel chimney cover for the hood and a door for the microwave cabinet. I am so thrilled with how it's turned out and it's truly a pleasure to cook in, it's a dream kitchen!

What would your dream kitchen look like? What flowers do you love to have in your kitchen?
